Eagles Kelly Green jerseys could be delayed another year due to global supply chain issues

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released a statement on their website, explaining that the return of the creamsicle orange jerseys they wore in the 70s will be delayed until 2023:

Due to global supply chain challenges, we will have to wait a year longer than expected. This is the earliest Nike can finish production of the orange uniforms.

The Buccaneers stopped hosting Throwback Games in 2013 when the NFL instituted a rule that teams could only equip their players with one set of helmets for an entire season. Since 1997, the Bucs have worn pewter helmets, which wouldn’t have worked with the orange and white retros. Last summer, however, the NFL revised this rule to allow teams to fit two sets of helmets, allowing for a second color available for returning uniforms.

With the helmet rule no longer an issue, what’s stopping the franchise from bringing back retro uniforms next season? Arnold says the manufacturer needs more time to design and produce mass quantities the Seahawks can retail, but that issue could be resolved in time for rollbacks to become a reality in 2023.

Global supply chain issues are going to be the new COVID in the future. “Why don’t you want to go have dinner with us“Global supply chain issues.”I want a divorce. Why? Global supply chain issues.” I could acquit anyone in court using a defense to the global supply chain issue.

Sadly, that now means the Kelly Green jerseys, which could have returned via the helmet rule change, will likely have to be shelved for another year. Just in time for the franchise QB (whoever it is) to don the greatest concept jersey in Eagles history. Will it be Jalen Hurts? Will it be Russell Wilson? Deshaun Watson? A QB stallion straight out of college? Anyone who wears them if they look like this they’ll fly off the shelves. There are thousands of Jerome Brown, Reggie White and Randall Cunningham Kelly Green jerseys at the Linc each game day:

What’s going on with Nike having all these supply chain issues by the way? If I see Oregon with 12 different uniforms next year, I’m going to lose it. Phil Knight is leaving billions on the table right now. I know you have Jeff Bezos’ number. Let’s make a deal and let Amazon mass-produce Kelly Green jerseys that a drone can fly to my house and down the chimney in 24 hours. If you’ve ordered anything in the last 6 months from Fanatics or NFL.com, you know the delivery times are at AliExpress level. I heard that people who ordered Harden Sixers jerseys didn’t receive them until mid-April. The only remaining Spectrum jersey on the Fanatics site was that of Ben Simmons at one point. I ordered a Rams Super Bowl shirsey for my brother-in-law after the NFC championship game and it just arrived on Sunday. Is that damn ship still stuck in the Suez Canal?
