A classic Original Six from MSG.
Welcome to the Morning shoot!
Wednesday gave us a light schedule for the New York teams, but some significant moments. Those who tuned in to the Rangers game saw the team honor a deceased high school player and then host the Toronto Maple Leafs in a hostile rivalry game with the Original Six.
The Nets were able to hang on for a W without KD and the Devils shuffled a bit before their game. We have the highlights below.
What we’re watching on Thursday:
- NBA: Pelicans @ Knicks – 7:30 p.m. ET
- BCB: #4 Purdue @ Indiana – 7 p.m. ET
- NHL: Avs @ Kings — 9:30 p.m. ET
Mel Kiper’s Model Abandoned
ESPN’s NFL Draft guru Mel Kiper, Jr. has released his first mock draft for the 2022 season. With the Giants and Jets each boasting two of the top ten overall picks, there will be plenty of attention. about CEOs in New York.
Joe Douglas and whoever hires the Giants to replace Dave Gettleman will have the opportunity to change the directions of their franchises if they are successful.
Here’s what Kiper said about the Giants.
Here’s what Kiper said about the Jets.
Rangers pay tribute
Teddy Balkind was a sophomore hockey player at St. Luke’s School in Connecticut. Earlier this calendar year, Balkind passed away after a tragic accident during a game. The hockey world has paid tribute to Balkind in various ways, from leaving sticks for Teddy to moments of silence before games.
On Wednesday night, Rangers skated in Balkind jerseys to honor the late player in their pre-game warm-ups.

foxy offense
Adam Fox won the Norris Trophy last season as the NHL’s top defenseman, but he might have a better season this year. On Wednesday night, he became the first Rangers defenseman to score 40 points in 40 games in more than 20 years – since one of the greatest ever to do so in this city. He added his 41st point later in the game.
With an assist, Adam Fox became the first Rangers defenseman to reach 40 points (5G-35A) in 40 or fewer games since Brian Leetch in 2000-01.

We love that they’ve changed their profile picture on all of the team’s social media and gone for the fun of the game. Thumbs up, Devils!
The game, however, did not go well. Luckily, the good people who handle social media for the Devils were able to entertain fans at home.
