Pick Six by Mike Sando – L’Athletic

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin – You didn’t have to be among the 77,948 at Lambeau Field on Sunday to understand how impossible it has become to trust the Los Angeles Rams, among other NFC contenders, but witnessing the carnage in person captured the relevant images more deeply.

A month ago, the Rams were sailing so comfortably that their coach, Sean McVay, could have spent more time devising new ways to congratulate quarterback Matthew Stafford. Indeed, greetings flowed from McVay’s lips so freely at times that it seemed like McVay was allocating resources for this purpose. It’s harder to sell now, after the Packers handed the Rams a No. 3 back-to-back loss.

Who can we trust on the NFC after a tumultuous November marked by the Rams’ continued plunge?

The Pick Six column for Week 12 leads with my screening for the conference’s seven playoff seeds, bolstered by insights from an NFL front office official. It’s really a matter of trust at this point. The seven teams that were 0.500 or better in Week 8 have combined for a 42-12 record at this point in the season. Those teams are 8-17 since then, with only the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Arizona Cardinals registering victory records in November.

It’s time for some accounting. First up, the full Pick Six menu this week:
